Bumblebee and Butterfly Paper Doll Costumes

My son originally asked for me to make a bumblebee costume. Bumblebee meaning the Transformers Bumblebee. I'm aiming to do my own work, so he "allowed" me to do a bumblebee (insect). He also chose a butterfly for the girl. These costumes are different because you put the wings on first, fold the tabs forwards, then put the rest of the costumes on normally.

Edit: I did a small edit on the tabs so that the costumes will fit better with the wings! 

Mermaid Clothes!

I chose mermaid clothes for the Paper Twins this week. Why mermaid clothes? No idea... it was the first thing to come to mind. It took quite a bit of work to fit all of this clothing onto one page. For the hair -- Cut along the thickest line and slide the hair on the head. The tabs are for stabilization. The separate pieces that look like necklaces are for the head of your dolls.

Edit: I just replaced the file. The other one works fine, but I added some tabs to stabilize the cat ears. I also added a bit of a notch to cut on the dog ears. The dog ears are more stable if you cut a little notch and put her right ear (the one to the left) behind her head.

Elf Clothes Plus Hair Styles!

Here are the second set of clothes for the Paper Twins! If you haven't downloaded the dolls and the first set of clothes, then you can find them here. I wanted to do more hairstyles last time but ran out of room. 

I tried to make the dolls features as universal as possible when creating them. I may create some new dolls in the near future, so if you have any suggestions please let me know! I like keeping the dolls black & white so children can color the dolls to look like them. 

I tested out all the clothing so they should work, but if there are problems please let me know in the comments below. I will edit them ASAP. 

For these particular clothes it should be noted that the three hairstyles to the upper right are meant for the male doll and the other three are for the female. If you want to switch the dolls just flip the clothing horizontally in your paint program and then print! 

The Paper Twins Are HERE!

As promised, here are my new paper dolls! I will be posting a new set of clothes (with possible accessories) every week. The dolls are made so the clothes can be reversible, so everything is made so it will fit on both dolls! (Just don't forget to flip the clothing horizontally on your computer before printing).

I have cut out and tested the clothing for both of these dolls (a grueling process :P). If you have a problem with the quality, printing or the clothes -- contact me and I'll fix what's wrong! The dolls have no hair, because it was just so much easier for me to make hair for bald dollies. 

Edit: Just want to clarify the copyright is to discourage people to sell these, mass produce them or steal my paper dolls for their website. You may use these dolls for classrooms, daycares, camp or any other project for a large group of people! 

For best results: Save the dolls onto your computer. Print the dolls on card stock. If you don't have card stock, then you can glue the dolls to cardboard and cut them out when dry. Clothing can be printed on regular printing paper.

For long hair: Cut the solid line above the dotted line. A crafting/small utility knife works best. Children ask your parents to help you with this!

The Paper Clothes Fit (Or Finally, Paper Doll Clothes!)

The title post for this may seem a bit odd, but it's because I had a hard time getting this clothing to fit my dolls. It was a resizing issue in Painter and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again. All of these were inked in Painter. I don't know if I'll be doing this again, because it took me longer than it would have by hand. I didn't take into account that my computer doesn't have the power it needs to run this program smoothly. This lead to the computer running slowly, but also it would stop and start again suddenly leading to a huge mess on the virtual paper. Please let me know if you find any fit issues. I do wish to announce that I'm taking a break from blogging this next week. I'm going to use this time to get some things done that I've been putting off lately. I will be working on artwork during this time, so I will have something to show when I come back. I hope you enjoy these paper dolls. I believe the next dolls I do will be of the fairy variety. 

Paper Dolls! (Finally)

Finally I have paper dolls to show you! Unfortunately I don`t have any clothing for these dolls tonight. Most of them are all ready to go, but they just need to be inked. I underestimated all the work that I would need to go through just to turn my drawings into working paper dolls. I`m hoping to get the clothing I have created inked and ready for you to print out tomorrow night, or Monday morning at the latest. I am definitely going to make more clothing for these dolls, however I may decide to create new dolls in the future that may or may not be related to these.

Instructions:

Click on image and save to your computer.

Print on card stock or other heavyweight material. Apply coating as directed below.

If no heavy weight material is available then print on paper. Colour dolls and paste onto cardboard. Rubber Cement or Elmers Glue works fine for this. Use glue sparingly and apply a thin coat to cardboard (fingers or popsicle sticks work good for application). Allow to dry completely before cutting (at least a few hours or overnight is best). A coating of Acrylic Medium, Clear Nail Polish or Liquid Puzzle Saver can be to protect your coloured work. Test coating (best time to do this is while the glue is drying) before using it directly on your paper dolls.
