Late Night Post Announcement

So I've recently found out that the business cards with my new website will be handed out long before I thought they would be *panic ensues*. It's not the end of the world, but I have to change some of my priorities right now. I have to get my website up to date. It's pretty good, but I need to start putting up previews for items I'll have on Etsy soon.

One of the items I'll have on Etsy is my little monster colouring book. The other colouring book is in the works, but it will take me a bit of time to get enough pages to make the full book. My biggest problem right now is what to name the book. The little monsters don't have an official name. Tomorrow I'm going to officially announce a contest for the naming the monsters. Anyone who happens to check my blog tonight will have a little more time to come up with a name! The prize will be a signed copy of the colouring book (it's totally going to be worth millions one day). To help you think of names here are some drawings from the book:

What's Up Wednesday

Things have gotten a little busier this week. Peter took little David to his doctor because he wasn't sounding good. He's now on an antibiotic and feeling much better. My husband is transferring to another store in the same position. He's working more days for the next few weeks, so it's going to be a bit harder for me to get done what I need to do this month. I just noticed that my last post (at least my last post) contained old dates. I've fixed this, and feel quite silly.

What I'm Reading

Do Tweets and Facebook count? I've totally read those.

What I'm Writing/Drawing

I got all my little colouring books done this past Saturday. If you didn't see them before you can view them here

I'm still going to work on some watercolour portraits this week. Working on one right now but it's giving me no end of issues. I still need to get my story typed up for critique this month. I want to write something for this Friday's blog post, so we'll see if I get time for this.

What Inspires Me Right Now

All the great writing events that have gone on lately are quite inspiring. Lots of great videos from Write On Con. All the wonderful pitches I heard today were so inspiring and I'm glad so many people are going to get their books looked at by agents! Also the awesome Teapot Tales from the Chapter Book Challenge group is able to be bought on Amazon here!

Been getting out more, but not a lot of hard core stuff this week.

Not much else to say today, but I'm looking forward to getting things done this week.

Sue Frye's Inklings

Sue Frye's blog "Inklings" has been around for some time now, but it's just been recently that it's really starting to roll (or rock if you prefer). Sue's blog has help & information for writers, found articles, her writing, and an overall fun atmosphere. Though her longer articles can be very informative, I'm surprised in how much information that Sue can pack into a short post. She really has a talent for creating shorter posts unlike some people I am. You can view her blog here: http://inkler.blogspot.ca/

From what I know of Sue she's a super busy writer. It's amazing what she's accomplished in the last 12 months. Here's a few things that she's been busy doing: In November of last year she was a winner in the PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month). She was a Rhyming Picture Book finalist. If you look under her "Published Works & Free Reads" you'll see the Rhyming Picture Book with the best picture of a cat ever! She is an author of "Bad Dragonflies" & a couple of stories that were in anthologies. Remember the Female Superhero Challenge I did a while back? Well that is going to be an anthology soon. Before that there was a Fairy Tale Challenge (I didn't make that one) and this is now an anthology! The anthology "Teapot Tales" can be found here. It's only $2.99 on Amazon for download to your kindle reader!

I think my favorite posts of Sue's are when she did the Blog Hop. Right now Sue is writing up a storm. She's writing so much that it makes my head spin! She's a 12x12 member  and Blue Boarder (like me) and you can read about all the other great things she's participated in that's helped her become a driven writer. Her blog hop posts feature a very special little animal named Gus. He is such a cute little frog! I have yet to read Sue's book, but I feel like I know her frog Gus already from how vividly she writes about him!

Sue Frye's blog is one you should definitely check out! The more I read from her the more I love her! She has a wonderful personality and I know you will love reading her work. Check out her blog (and buy the Teapot Tales anthology!) You'll be glad you did.

Tiny Coloring Books!

I spent six and a half hours at my FIL's printing company printing my books. Would have finished sooner but I miscalculated in my printing. Also a lot of little things like my son being there and picking out paper made it difficult. I did most of the work myself (My friend Zarko helped with bindery and I am grateful). Some pics of the results below!

What's Up Wednesday!

I DIDN'T DIE FROM MY COLD! I'm not so sick this week. Just a few lingering sinus problems. My son, on the other hand is teething, so it's hard to put him in bed at night. I didn't get a chance to do my blog review post yesterday during the day. At 11pm that night I was a bit distracted by my son crying in the bedroom (with daddy) so I decided to do the easy thing and post a painting that's about half way done.

What I'm Reading

I think I burnt out on reading Cassandra Clare. I might actually read something I have on my bookshelf. I don't know what it is, but if I get a book out of the library I'm way more likely to read it than if I own the book. I think it's just because you have to finish library book in a certain amount of time. I may start the Barbra Kingsolver novel I have "The Lacuna", but I might just lament the fact that I don't have her new novel.

What I'm Writing/Drawing

I didn't get to do any printing last weekend. I was far too sick (and I didn't want to get my friend Zarko sick). I have to finish all my printing this Friday so I can get my things into the promo bags.

Other focuses this week will include doing some watercolour portraits for my website portfolio (three isn't enough!) and writing a story for this month's 12x12 submission. I may do something different this Friday... if I get around to doing some writing that is!

Coffee to combat my complete and utter lack of sleep.

What Else I've Been Up To

Baby Minding
Went in for a dental check up today and he had two cavities (knew about this before). Got a temporary filling on one. He'll have to get it fixed when he's older.

Working Out/Being Healthy
Was sick last week, so this week should be better. If nothing else there will be walks!

Ect.
There was something else, but I forget what it was!

When it Rains...

I wasn't able to get to posting all day today. I wanted to do a blog review, but it just wasn't in the cards. My son has not been sleeping well recently (again). He's in the bedroom with his daddy crying. I don't think I'm going to be able to think well enough to make a good review post, so here is a painting I'm working on right now. It's just one layer of colour so far, but it's a start!

Little Coloring Pages

Coloring pages for my teeny tiny books!  I'm not sure if I'm going with 4 pages or 8.  We'll see tomorrow!
